Monches Artisans Holiday Open House

If you like small shops and an open schedule, the 31st Annual Monches Artisans Holiday Open House is for you. Named after an Indian Chief, Monches, was settled in the 1840s primarily by Irish settlers. Monches is now locally known as an artist’s community because of the variety of artwork available in relatively close proximity.

The weekend of December 5th-7th, 2014 is set aside for a self-guided tour of some of the most unique shops, farms and studios you will find all in the countryside near Holy Hill Basilica. While many have driven the rustic roads near Holy Hill to enjoy the fall colors, along the way small shops are awaiting your visit. This open house tour is a great opportunity to hit all of them in one day as each day of the tour runs from 9:00AM-5:00PM.

Monches Farm is one of the stops. Here you will find a gift shop brimming with unique antiques contrasted with fresh handmade wreaths, both featured in an atmosphere decorated for the season. Refreshments will be available.

Krauski Art Glass, Bobrowitz Sculpture, Lee Curtes Pottery are smaller shops where one of a kind items that are hand-crafted by local artisans are waiting to be discovered. This may just be the perfect trip to find that special something for that special someone. There are many unique gifts and a variety of artwork on display and for sale.

Refreshments, seasonal music, bonfires, locally produced wine and all the art you could possibly imagine are what you will find during your tour of these shops. All located in one of the most beautiful areas of Southeastern Wisconsin. A map of all of the stops on the tour can be found at http://www.monchesartisans.com/map .
