As the daylight becomes scarce between Thanksgiving and Christmas it seems like many of us drive to both work and home in the dark. The cure for this pre-winter blues time is found 5 minutes away from Hidden Serenity Bed and Breakfast. Before, or even after, your delicious dinner out, you will not want to miss this gem during the holidays.
Boasting of light displays, music and performing arts, Enchantment in the Park has been in existence since 2009. Enchantment in the Park was founded by four Rotary clubs in Washington County – West Bend Noon, West Bend Sunrise, Hartford and Slinger/Allenton. Then, in 2013, Menomonee Falls Rotary Club was added to the planning committee. After years of lighting up the Washington County Fairgrounds, Enchantment in the Park is now in the City of West Bend in historic Regner Park.
On November 28, 2014 the lights turn on for the holiday season. For 24 bright nights this spectacle will be available for visitors to drive through the tunnel of lights, and with more than 340,000 LED lights it is quite the tunnel. If all the lights were in a straight line, they would extend 23 miles. Fortunately the creative artists who run the display have found a better way use these lights and the 1000+ extension cords used in the display. Local talent is also on hand to entertain people with music fit for the season. Hundreds of volunteers contribute to the festivities with a wide variety of holiday costumes and outfits.
Local entertainment groups join the festivities on different evenings so check the website for more info: http://www.enchantmentpark.org . The park is open from 5-9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday and most of the days the two weeks of the holidays. You can drive walk or take a horse-drawn carriage ride through to see the light displays.
Enchantment in the Park does not charge admission, but a suggested donation of $10.00 per car supports the future of Enchantment in the Park. Bring some non-perishable food items to help support local food pantries.
