As time moves the Calendar to November and into December, a series of events take place on FIVE consecutive Friday nights in the Cedar Creek Settlement. For over a month, the cultural district is alive on Friday evenings awaiting your visit.
Starting on November 21st Five Festive Friday’s kicks off with “O’ Tannenbaum” Christmas in Germany. This event features the music of Tony Gorenc and Fred Buchel, genuine German dancers and Schnitzelbank demonstrations. German food items will include German Stollen, cider and cookies. Cedar Creek Winery will offer wine tasting and sampling to go with the other treats available.
Thanksgiving weekend (November 28th) features live music from the Jenny Thiel Duo, wine tasting, Make-it-and-Take-it projects and complimentary cider and cookies.
The big weekend of December 5th, 6th and 7th is the time for “The Settlement Christmas Showcase” where the 150th anniversary of the Wittenberg Woolen Mill will be a big celebration! Historical Speakers and cultural events will give you stories about Cedarburg you may have never heard before.
December 12th from 5-9 PM is “Santa’s Workshop” where you will visit with Santa in his winter wonderland. “Songs of the Season” will be performed live. The usual treats featured at the previous weekends will also be available along with items for purchase.
Finally, when Christmas is just around the corner, December 19th is the evening especially for the grown-ups. The festive shopping atmosphere will include entertainment from Ed Franks as he performs songs originally sung by Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin and Bing Crosby. You are sure to recognize these songs and may be tempted to sing along.
