As we fast approach the Harvest season in Wisconsin a tradition that has become very popular is picking pumpkins right out in the field. Meadowbrook Market and Pumpkin Farm has now opened for the season and this is the time to take advantage of the great fall weather while visiting a pumpkin field for your Fall decorations.
Located just south of West Bend on Mile View Road, Meadowbrook offers fun for a variety of ages. While many pumpkin farms have attractions for the kids, Meadowbrook also specializes in the “big kids” including couples. Their tractors will take you out to the pumpkin fields for picking pumpkins during the day. Since Meadowbrook farms grows 27 varieties of pumpkins you are sure to find just the right one for your individual taste.
If you are in town for a weekend the evening hours come alive with Meadowbrook’s “haunted corn maze” (which is open on Friday and Saturday). The maze is complete with live actors waiting to surprise you as you find your way through the corn. The 3⁄4 of a mile long trail weaves through more than 6 acres of corn field with thick stands of corn stalks making the maze a fun challenge and will definitely get your heart rate up, either from the walking or from the fright caused by the “surprises” along the way!
The drive to Meadowbrook farms will take about 15 minutes from Hidden Serenity B&B. Grab your puddle boots and a jacket and have a fun weekend in our area complete with pumpkin picking and hot apple cider!
