There’s no better feeling than grabbing your bike and hitting the trails. Especially when you have an amazing view surrounding you with unending beauty. That’s what you will discover when you mountain bike the New Fane Trail in the Kettle Moraine State Forest, only 15 minutes from Hidden Serenity Bed and Breakfast. The New Fane Trail is only one of a small handful of mountain biked approved trails within the Kettle Moraine. There you can find beginner as well as advanced terrain, something for everyone of all skill levels. The four intertwined loops allow riders to make their own decisions and switch up trails along the way as the terrains can change in an instant giving the rider something to look forward to at all times. All of the loops and trails are marked with a color marking system to make it easy to see and make decisions of which way to go along the way.
The Kettle Moraine is known for it’s diversity in terrain with rolling hills made by glaciers as well as grass and sand, dirt, rocks and roots. On the more advanced loops, you will see a lot of ups and downs, and unstable areas in other places that will give your technical skills a challenge we are sure you will love.
All of this surrounded by Wisconsin’s wonderful scenery of lush rolling meadows, dense forest and an occasional visit from a four legged or winged friend as you may come across white tail deer, red-tailed hawks and other species that live in the Kettle Moraine. The beautiful lakes, streams and diversity of the woods will WOW you as you ride or on those much needed breaks.
On your return back to Hidden Serenity Bed and Breakfast, you can plop on that oh-so-comfy bed, hop in the Jacuzzi, slip into the two-person awesome shower, dine at our favorite nearby restaurant, The Call of the Wild and then come back to enjoy a romantic evening at the B&B.
Fun Wisconsin Fact: Green Bay is the Toilet Paper Capital of the World. Now THAT’s something I didn’t know.
