Couple enjoying Wine tasting in Wisconsin at Cedar Creek Winery

An Afternoon at Cedar Creek Winery

The Cedar Creek Winery is located in the charming town of Cedarburg and is about 20 minutes south of our Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast. It’s located in the historic Cedar Creek settlement in downtown Cedarburg, which is almost enough of a reason to visit in its own right. The Cedar Creek Settlement, built in the 1860s, is a former Woolen Mill. Aside from the Cedar Creek Winery, you’ll also find great restaurants and shops in this part of town.

Cedar Creek Winery is a sister winery to the popular (and oldest) winery in Wisconsin, Wollersheim Winery. The Wollersheim Family opened Cedar Creek Winery in 1990, and, accordingly, the wineries share grapes grown in the Wollersheim vineyards. Though the wineries complement each other, you’ll find a unique combination of red, white, and blush wines at Cedar Creek Winery and a distinctive tasting experience.

You can enjoy wine flights at Cedar Creek Winery any day of the week from 10 am – 4:30 pm. However, if you want to avoid a potentially long wait on busy summer weekends, you can also reserve a wine tasting on Saturdays. They also offer seated and seasonal wine and cheese tastings – a great way to enjoy their delicious wines!

While visiting the Cedar Creek Winery this summer, we recommend you try their delightful Cherry Blush wine, which they now offer in cans. It has a distinctive hint of cherry juice in the wine and pairs perfectly with a warm summer afternoon adventure. Aside from sipping on their delicious wines any hot summer afternoon, this fall is also a great time to visit the Cedar Creek Winery and partake in the Wine & Harvest Festival in Cedarburg.
