One of West Bend’s favorite bed and breakfasts, Hidden Serenity, is pleased to host guests for the upcoming Mother Earth News Fair. This year, the fair will be in West Bend from August 8th to August 9th, bringing with it a huge variety of speakers and workshops on topics ranging from keeping chickens to making cheese to solar power to home remedies, and so much more!
Experts from around the country will converge on West Bend on this weekend to impart their knowledge about sustainable lifestyles and Hidden Serenity is the perfect place to stay for this event. With four different types of rooms to choose from, at a range of prices, from the very affordable to the very lavish, there are no better accommodations for those attending the Mother Earth News Fair than those available at Hidden Serenity Bed & Breakfast. This is by far one of the most popular events of the year, so we encourage guests to book their rooms early!
Whether you are just starting a sustainable lifestyle or you have been living one for decades, this fair has classes, workshops, and speakers catered to you. There are going to be a multitude of great workshops to take when the fair comes to town—a list of all the available speakers can be found here. It will be difficult to choose between learning how to save your own seeds and solar cooking classes and the huge variety of other workshops coming with the Mother Earth News Fair this year. Natural farmers, DIYers, and energy-conscious builders alike will be able to find something to enjoy at this fair.
We know that there are other nice accommodations in the area, but we love that this fair is happening in our county, as we believe wholeheartedly in the concepts that it espouses. Hidden Serenity Bed and Breakfast is proud to say that when we built the house 18 years ago we did much of the work ourselves and used wood from our property for almost all of the interior wood including lots of flooring. Among other things, virtually all of our lighting is LED, being very energy efficient.
Our B&B is the perfect place to return to after a long day of hands-on learning at the fair. Your days will undoubtedly be filled with activities already, but in the mornings and evenings, there are plenty of things to do at and around the inn—including woodland paths for walking, and biking, museums, golf courses, zoos, etc. Many of our guests enjoy relaxing and listening to the sounds of nature on our large deck.
Don’t miss this great event or your chance to snag one of our unique, luxurious rooms!
